Workshops

Throughout my career, I have been incredibly lucky to have had mentors and cheerleaders that I could lean on for support and look to for advice. Being able to rely on those with more experience has been invaluable in expediting my learning and quickly adopting best practices that I can then apply to my own workflows.

As such, I treasure opportunities where I’m able to return the favor by sharing my processes and story with a broader audience, especially with those who may just be starting out in their own design journeys.

Here are some of the workshops and livestreams that I’ve participated in:

Adobe Live (January 2019)

Adobe Live is a 3-day event where designers from different disciplines work on a project, while livestreaming to an international audience. In January 2019, I had the opportunity to create divr, a mobile product that enables scuba divers to learn about dive sites around the world.

Here are the replays from the event:

Adobe Live (April 2018)

In April 2018, I had the opportunity to create Globehopper, a product that allows beer enthusiasts to not only learn about the most popular beers from each country but also gain insight into local drinking etiquette.

Here is a brief writeup about my process and the replays from the event:

Creative Playground (November 2016)

While I was freelancing and traveling with Remote Year, I had the opportunity to design and host a handful of interactive workshops centered around finding, nurturing, and embracing your creative self.

One of those workshops was hosted in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where 60 international guests (from Australia to Thailand to New Zealand) came together to exercise their creative muscles. I hosted this alongside my talented friend, Jacri, and we took everyone through the design thinking process to create superheroes. It was a fun way to extrapolate the foundations of design and apply it to a topic that is more approachable and lightweight. There isn’t a wrong way to design a superhero, so we thought this would be a great starting point for our guests, especially those who don’t consider themselves creative when they stepped into our workshop (spoiler alert: everyone left embracing their creative nature).

Many thanks to Emerald HUB for hosting us and to COD9 Media for capturing all the fun moments below!
